Maggie and Sahil were married twice in two beautiful ceremonies on their wedding weekend. This wonderful couple, who forged their friendship at Boston College in 2011 started dating a year later and have been together ever since! Our bride and groom were so excited to give their families and friends a fantastic and fun couple of days. It meant a lot to be able to bring all of their most loved people together as they celebrated an Indian wedding one night and a traditional America wedding the next.
Day one brought the Indian wedding ceremony. We started the day getting ready for Sahil’s Baraat (the grooms wedding procession). With drums thumping, friends and family danced in a mass of colorful saris and handsome kurtas and greeted our groom. Sahil arrived upon a white horse, ready to meet with his bride! When the ceremony started, Maggie, in traditional red wedding sari, was carried down the aisle on a Doli to her groom by, no doubt, the strongest of Sahil’s friends! After a beautiful ceremony, sparklers blazed as the bride and groom kissed. But the celebration and ceremony were not over yet!
Day two brought the traditional American style wedding at the beautiful Saphire Estate in Sharon, MA. This day we found our bride in her elegant white gown surrounded bu her maids in powdery light blue and still with the lovely amber red henna ornamenting their hands. Sahil and the groomsmen were looking dapper in their blue suits. The ceremony took place in the garden where the couple exchanged sweet personal vows under the lush floral covered arbor and made their way back down the aisle together, husband and wife again! The bride and groom entered the reception arms raised to loud cheers. finally it was time to party and the dance floor was full and lively from the get go and well into the night!
Maggie and Sahil, it was so wonderful to spend the weekend with you and your incredible group of family and friends. Thanks so much for allowing us to be part of your day!
