Elaina and Robert’s wedding weekend wasn’t just a celebration of their marriage—it also marked eight years since the day they first met. Their story began on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend in 2017 at a bar called Village Tavern in Salem, Massachusetts. Introduced by mutual friends, they hit it off immediately.
At the time, Elaina was about to return to college for her final year. Even with the distance, they stayed in touch, seeing each other whenever she came home. By May of 2018, their connection had grown into something undeniable, and they officially began dating.
Fast forward to May 24th, 2024—Elaina’s birthday, and once again Memorial Day Weekend—Robert proposed during a special trip to Las Vegas. For them, Memorial Day Weekend had always been a time filled with meaning, milestones, and joy—and now it would forever be associated with the beginning of their next chapter.
When it came time to plan their big day, bride and groom envisioned a relaxed classic Cape Cod wedding —including one very important guest: their beloved dog, Brandy. As for the ceremony and reception, Elaina and Robert both shared a deep love for the water. They explored several waterfront venues around Cape Cod, but the moment they saw photos of Wequassett, something just felt right. The charm of the cottage-style rooms, the warmth of the setting, and the idea of having all their loved ones staying together in one place made it feel like home.
