Lauren and Chris have a love story thats spans their lifetimes. Their first likely meeting was when they were in the same first grade class in their hometown. Years later at Westward Academy, the two began dating in Freshman year until their Senior year when they parted ways to attend UNH and Penn State. Eight years later, in 2020, the two reconnected, feelings were rekindled and the love story continued.
The two picked Cape Cod as the location for their ceremony and celebration as it had always been a special place for them both. Not only the home for both of their families but also the site of many sweet memories of summer weekends. Even the venue itself held many memories from its past incarnation, Thompson’s Clam Bar, a place that the brides sister, mom and grandparents recalled fondly.
For the ceremony, the Cape itself seemed to put on its best for the couple with bright sunshine and an ocean breeze. Chris and Lauren and their families were interwoven into every part and detail of the day. Guests were welcomed by a sign handmade by the groom, the ceremony itself was officiated by the brides father with her mom doing a reading as well as personal vows written and recited by the couple celebrating their long history and love.
After the ceremony, Chris and Lauren headed for the docks for a sweet boat ride together before the reception. We were so happy to be able to capture this wonderful moment from the sky as they made their way around the harbor. As guests went from mingling at cocktail hour into the reception hall, they were once again greeting by another handmade item from the bride and groom,150 decoupage shell escort “cards” of blue and white with gold edging.
The reception began with the newly married couple being introduced into the room with cheers and applause from their family and friends as they took to the floor for their first dance. After loving toasts and a delicious dinner, the dance floor was opened and after momentarily disappearing, Chris emerged with his bride, now shimmering in a new dress she donned just for the party. And it was quite a party!
