Emma and Alex met at Bates college at the beginning of their freshman year. However this love story could have started years before when they both went to the same small-town summer camp when they were much younger! Although they don’t ever remember meeting at camp, it was indeed college that brought them together. Outgoing Alex had no problem walking up and introducing himself to Emma during the hustle and bustle of orientation. Friendship bloomed and by the end of freshman year, friendship turned to romance and the rest, as they say, is history.
The bride and groom chose the BPL as they both grew up in the Boston area and have a deep love for the city. The two had moved to the city together right after college and when visiting wedding venues the BPL was the absolute standout. As the couple said, they “felt the magic” and knew it was where they wanted to make their lifelong commitment to each other.
We started our day with Emma and Alex in Copley Square, right outside the Fairmont Hotel, as they took photos with the wedding party and their sweet pup Bean. They then made their way to the Library for a few more photos and to ready themselves for the ceremony. Guests arrived in the stunning courtyard and soon the music started and the procession began. After sweet personal vows and a perfect first kiss (including a dip!) the courtyard fountain came to life as guest cheered to the new Mr and Mrs!
Next was the celebration. The Gustavino Room was set for dinner with elegant florals and gold and ivory table accents. The couple was introduced to the room to more cheers and enjoyed their first dance before setting into heartfelt toasts and a lovely meal with family and friends. Next the party moved up to the Abby Room where bride, groom and guests hit the dance floor for a night of music and fun that was still going when our cameras left!
Emma and Alex, thank you for having us at your lovely wedding. Wishing you both (and Bean!) much happiness.
Thank you Zev Fisher for the gorgeous wedding portrait!
