Valerie and Jackson met at the University of Pittsburgh through a mutual friend. While sparks didn’t fly during that first meeting, a few months later, their last Panthers football game as students was the setting for them hitting it off. Now over six years later, after time together enjoying their mutual love for cozy bookstores but also exciting adventures including visiting national parks, wedding bells were ringing!
While looking for the perfect venue to host their ceremony and celebration, the two instantly locked into Misselwood as their dream venue. It had everything they wanted from the gorgeous outdoor space for the ceremony and an elegant tent for the reception to the ocean views and a beautiful, cozy library for these two book worms.
There were some very special personalizations and traditions the two had at their wedding that meant a lot to them. Valerie and Jackson included a ribbon cutting at the ceremony, something Val’s late grandmother had at her wedding. The Italian tradition is meant to symbolize the beginning of a new stage in life. The bride and groom also wanted to include their love of letter writing in their day by penning individual thank you cards to all of their guests. The personal touches also included many handmade gifts from family including a ring pillow made from Jacksons mothers wedding dress.
Valerie and Jackson, your wedding day was filled with so many thoughtful and lovely moments and we were so happy to document them all. Thank you for having us with you and we wish you joy in your many years to come!
Thank you Katrina Bernard for sharing the beautiful portrait with us for the cover photo.
