Kristen and Michael first met years ago as members of their local business community where both were involved in some very important projects that would impact their community as a whole. Queue the pandemic and life changes happened which led to long walks together where strong clues began to emerge that made it clear a special attraction existed. While many attended happenings were shared, it was all still very business-like until finally one day, a date was made. And the rest is history.
The bride and groom chose Rosecliff for their venue but indeed this choice might have been made even before they met! As a college student, Kristen had visited Rosecliff and fell in love with this elegant Gilded Age mansion. Kristen dreamed of one day getting married at Rosecliff and had a postcard on the mansion on her bulletin board for years. As Kristen said, “getting ready in Mrs. Oerlich’s dressing room, getting married in the salon, and having our party in the ballroom where the “White Ball” took place in 1904 is simply amazing.“
The couple made the most of their setting, enhancing its beauty with their own elegant Gilded Age touches like croquet outside on the lawn, champagne in crystal flutes and actors dressed up like characters from the period.
The ceremony and reception were stunning with lovely floral designs and decor filling the incredible rooms with life and color, no doubt guests felt quite transported as they entered the salon for the ceremony. Close friends and family made up the wedding party, including a silver haired flower girl and a dear friend serving as officiant. For their reception, the couple sent smiles across the room with their fabulous choreographed first dance, just right for the spacious ballroom.
Kristen and Michael, thank you for making us part of your day. We were so happy to play this very small part in the celebration of your love story. All the best to you both in your many years to come!
