Katy and Mike met years ago in Pittsburg at work and again years later when Katy was in New York for Grad school. On her graduation day she bumped into Mike on the street on his way to a job interview. She told him that he should get in touch if he got the job and ended up in NY. Well, he got the job and the rest is history, the two have been together ever since.
After their original wedding plans were effected by Covid, the two decided to plan their new celebration closer to home and by the water. They fell in love with the OceanCliff with its effortless seaside elegance and stunning views. We started our day with the couple as they got ready for their first look. Katie was looking flawless as she put on her gown and some finishing touches with the ladies. Mike was looking handsome as he straightened his powder blue tie and was off the see his bride. The moment itself was lovely to capture especially after such a long wait for the wedding day!
One of moments the couple was most looking forward to was the private signing of their Ketubah just before the ceremony with guests. After that, it was onto the Ceremony with all of their loved ones on the green lawn sloping down to the water. The scene was set for the wedding with brides maids in powder blue (matching the gents ties) and Hydrangeas overflowing on the lush arbor. For a lovely personal touch, the brides bouquet was wrapped with fabric from her mothers wedding gown as well as the bows worn by the flower girls and the ring bearers pillow made from the same cloth. Another favorite moment for the bride and groom was being wrapped in the prayer cloth at the close of the ceremony just before they were pronounced husband and wife.
The cocktail hour took place just a skip from the ceremony site. After that, the guests were invited into the reception. The couple had collected sea shells from some of their favorite RI and NY beaches to create individual place cards for their guests. Katy hand painted each one with the names of their family and friends.
Once inside for the reception the hall was filled with cheers for the bride and groom as they were introduced and had their first dance. Next the band kicked in for the Hora and guests surrounded the couple, dancing, hand clasped and raising the bride and groom on chairs. Finally the couple was blessed with loving words from heartfelt toasts.
Katy and Mike, thank you for having us at your very sweet and intimate wedding. We were delighted to create your films for you!
